Park time!

I took Braxton to a park on July 27th, 2010. I mind you I have a HUGE fear of slides, silly, I know. So, Brax actually went down the slide with his cousin Morgan. I felt guilty after so I bucked up, sat down on the slide, took a breath, and couldn't get off that thing fast enough!!! I hope he liked it! His daddy better be ready to take him down LOTS and LOTS of slides, that isn't his mommy's department!!

Can't you see the excitement in my hands and face! haha

My lil Baseball player

My sister let me borrow her camera and play around with it and take some pictures. I had a blast! I dressed Brax all up in a baseball outfit! It suits him, he looks so handsome!!

Dear Braxton

Dear Braxton,
Sorry this is a little past your 6 month mark, but I wanted to write you a letter and let you know things that you are doing and things that have happened to you.
Things you are doing....
  • Rolling over like a crazy man! You roll, EVERYWHERE!! You rolled from your back to your tummy for the first time ever on Wednesday, July 7th, 2010. You have been unstoppable since then.
  • You are sitting up all by yourself. The doctor said he was extremely impressed because children your age doesn't usually sit up that well. Good Job buddy!
  • You are talking and telling stories up a storm. You love to be heard, and you make sure that everyone can hear you!
  • When I go to get you out of your crib after naps or in the morning, you give me the BIGGEST smiles every. You also kick your legs and move your arms. It makes me feel so special. I also know how much you love me!
  • You are eating real food now. I started you on rice cereal Thursday, July 15th. You were a natural.
  • I started you on peas on Monday, July 26th, 2010
  • You are super strong. You love the bang your arms up and down and against your chest like Tarzan. You also have very strong leg muscle.
  • When you are mad, and you don't want your binky, you know how to push my hands away..
Things that have happened to you.
  • You had your first solid poop on Wednesday, July 28th, 2010
  • You also got your first couple bruises on the exact same day. I set you down to play and you leaned forward to grab a toy but ended up leaning to far forward and you fell. Right on top of a toy.. You hit it pretty hard. And were left with 3 small bruises on your face. I felt like the worst mommy ever, but I know that is only the first of MANY bruises and cuts!!!
  • You went to a park for the very first time on Tuesday, July 27th, 2010. You also went down your first slide today too!!
I love you so much Braxton. "You are my sunshine!!!"
Love, Mommy

Braxton's First Hike

For family night on July 19th, 2010 (his 6 month birthday!!), we went for a hike to some old volcanoes in Albuquerque. Braxton had it easy, all he had to do was sit in the back-pack. I had the hard part, I had to carry him!! He was so good though, talking and cooing up a storm! I think he really really loved it! I will have to do it more often! We hiked up 2 different volcanoes. It was a GORGEOUS view. One side was the sunset and the other side was the beautiful city lights coming on as it got dark. We were on our second volcano, and we hadn't seen any snakes. We had seen lots of millipedes, stink bugs, jack rabbits, and horny toads. We were almost to the top of the 2nd volcano, and it was getting pretty dark. Well, I so happened to look to my right... and there it was.. A RATTLESNAKE!!!!! So, I quietly told my sister and she was really unhappy so we turned around and left. It was a pretty long, scary walk back down to the car, for fear of stepping on one!! But, it was fun and worth it. Sweet little "B" fell asleep! Oh, and, I think I won the award for MOST un-color coordinated clothes! Pictures taken by Heidi... Fantastic Job!!!

6 Months Old!!!

I took Braxton to the doctor's for his 6 month check up.. Here are his stats...
Weight- 16 lbs 1 oz
Height- 25 inches
Head- 17 inches
He is in the low percentiles for all 3!! But that is ok! He was sitting up on his own and the doctor was very impressed with him. He said alot of kids can't sit up that well, and by themselves at his age. Way to go B!!! I was going to wait till the exact 6 month mark, but I caved early. I started him on rice cereal today!!! I couldn't wait any longer!! I think I was more excited than he was. It was a moment I hope I never forget!! He did amazing. I thought he was going to spit it out and it was going to take forever, but nooooooooo he gobbled it right down and LOVED it!! I also gave him a little rice cracker after. He acted like he has been chewing and eating human food for months!! He is so big!! I can't believe it has already been half a year. Where did the time go? I love that little boy more than life itself. He is my world! I love his smile and his laugh!! He has the cutest little personality!! Thanks for being you B!!! And a special thanks to my sister Heidi who took these AMAZING pics!!!

A lil' update

I thought I would give a little update on my Guapo Mitchell. He seems to be doing really well over there. He looks happy and seems to be happy. We are 1/3 of the way through this deployment!!! Waaaaaawhooooo!!! 2011 will you please come sooner? I have been extremely blessed that technology has grown so much. Mitch and I are able to Skype or google chat almost everyday!! It helps me and I believe it helps him. He is able to see his little boy whenever he wants. So he still gets to see him grow, smile, and giggle. We send some snail mail as well. I send him packages, he sends me some. He even sent me a Genie lamp, hopefully my wish will come true!! Here are a few photos from him.

My happy baby!

I love him! He is the happiest little boy. I can't wait to wake up in the morning to see his smile. Speaking of waking up, Brax has learned how to fake cough. So he wakes up early and starts out with one cough and quietly and it gradually gets louder and more coughs. It sounds soooooo girly! I just laughed and laughed this morning when he did it. How do babies learn these things?!

Facials

My sister went to the rodeo with my brother to take some pictures. So I decided that I was going to have a fun night with the girls. I had some green facial mud, grandma had the cucumbers, and a face mister. I love my sweet nephew Bro-bro. He just wants to do everything his sisters are doing, so we did a facial and pedicure on him as well. We had so much fun!! I love being a girl!
