For family night on July 19th, 2010 (his 6 month birthday!!), we went for a hike to some old volcanoes in Albuquerque. Braxton had it easy, all he had to do was sit in the back-pack. I had the hard part, I had to carry him!! He was so good though, talking and cooing up a storm! I think he really really loved it! I will have to do it more often! We hiked up 2 different volcanoes. It was a GORGEOUS view. One side was the sunset and the other side was the beautiful city lights coming on as it got dark. We were on our second volcano, and we hadn't seen any snakes. We had seen lots of millipedes, stink bugs, jack rabbits, and horny toads. We were almost to the top of the 2nd volcano, and it was getting pretty dark. Well, I so happened to look to my right... and there it was.. A RATTLESNAKE!!!!! So, I quietly told my sister and she was really unhappy so we turned around and left. It was a pretty long, scary walk back down to the car, for fear of stepping on one!! But, it was fun and worth it. Sweet little "B" fell asleep! Oh, and, I think I won the award for MOST un-color coordinated clothes! Pictures taken by Heidi... Fantastic Job!!!
